“I love running because it’s my reset button. No matter how hard the day has been, the moment I start a run, all the worries from the day fade away. It’s my time to clear my head—whether I need to sort through my thoughts or just zone out. Running gives me the space to breathe, to feel strong, and to remind myself that I can keep moving forward.

As a mom, running is my way to recharge so I can show up better for my family. But the fact that I also have to think about safety while doing so is frustrating. Running should be freeing, not something I have to second-guess. Yet, like so many women, I have to plan my routes carefully, stay aware of my surroundings, share my location, check in while running, and take extra precautions—because the world isn’t always as safe as it should be. So I do everything I can to stay smart and prepared, because my run should be my time to escape, not something that puts me at risk.“ - Whitney
